Why are small groups the basic group at Grace?
  • Grace is an open church where people matter.
  • Small groups provide a place where people can find friends and develop relationships that will help each of us to be a more devoted follower of Christ.

Small Group Mission:

The mission of small groups at Grace Community Church is to build strong relationships between Christians that will encourage individuals to wholeheartedly follow Christ.

Where do Small Groups fit in?

The essential experiences that we want small group members at Grace to have are deep, meaningful fellowship and rich, regular prayer. The two other essential experiences of church life described in Acts 2:42, teaching and communion, are provided for at Grace through Grace Midweek and Sunday Morning Grace.

Distinctives of small groups at Grace:

  • Grace small groups are explicitly relationship and prayer based gatherings.
  • Grace small groups are open to receiving new members.
  • Grace small groups are led by enthusiastic believers.

Small Group Format:

  • Icebreaker - A fifteen to thirty minute start-up phase of the meeting.
  • Bible Discussion - A thirty to forty-five minute segment of the meeting during which time all group members break down into groups of four to read a Bible passage or passages pertinent to the evening's topic and discuss questions as to its meaning and application.
  • Prayer - Thirty minute close to the evening's meeting when group members actively pray for one another, out loud, on the basis of answers given to the final discussion question.
