Right click on the file you want and choose Save Target As... or Save Link As... to save the file to somewhere on your computer. I'd recommend saving this file to your Desktop, so that it is easy to find. The nicest download format for burning a CD is to choose the format. This is a compressed ZIP file that contains several shorter mp3 files that are approximately 5 minutes long. This allows for several tracks to be easily created on the audio CD. If a ZIP file isn't available for a given week, the downloadable mp3 file will work as well.
If you chose the format, double click on the .zip file that you downloaded to your computer. Open the file and copy the .mp3 files to your computer, preferably your Desktop.
Select and highlight each of the .mp3 files that you want to burn to the CD. One trick to select multiple files is to hold down the CTRL key while selecting the files with your mouse. Once you have all the .mp3 files highlighted, right click on any of the files and choose SEND TO > and then your CD-R drive. On your computer this may be called CD-RW, DVD-R/CD-RW, or something similar.
Now, from the Start menu open up the My Computer and double click on the CD-R drive that you chose in step 4 above. You should see dim icons of the .mp3 files you selected in step 4. In the CD-R explorer window, choose Write Files to CD from under the File menu to open up a CD Writing Wizard.
Enter a name for the CD, e.g. the title of the message. Then select the Next > button.
If there isn't a recordable CD in the drive yet, put a blank CD in the CD-R drive and close the drive.
Choose to Make an audio CD and select the Next > button.
The next step should bring up Windows Media Player to handle the burning of the audio CD. You should be able to burn the CD by simply clicking on the Burn CD or Start Burn buttons. Once you click the button, Windows Media Player should take anywhere from 12 to 20 minutes to burn the final CD. (If you've already burnt another audio CD before, you may have to remove the previous audio tracks from the CD Burn List in Windows Media Player before choosing to burn the CD.)
That should do it.
NOTE: It could be that you have installed other media players or CD burning software that will try intercept parts of the above steps. Feel free to use other software as there are probably 50 or more different methods to accomplish the above tasks. But the above steps should work on most standard installs of Windows XP.
