You are the Creator;
I am a creature, one of the created.
I respond in humility,
bending my neck.
I submit my offering of praise.
Please show me yourself.

You are Lord, Master, King;
I am your subject.
I respond in servanthood,
holding open my hands.
I submit my offering of service.
Please show me my assignment.

You are Father;
I am your child.
I respond in obedience,
bowing my knee.
I submit my offering of confession.
Please show me my sin.

Is this the way you repay the LORD,
O foolish and unwise people?
Is he not your Father, your Creator,
who made you and formed you?
      Deuteronomy 32:6

Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:
Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,
but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.
And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself
and became obedient to death -- even death on a cross!
