This sounds simple: "walk as Jesus did". Why do I tend to complicate things beyond what Jesus did?

Verses 12-14 are a great reminder of who I am as a child of God...
My sins have been forgiven on account of his name.
I have known him who is from the beginning.
I have overcome the evil one.
I have known the Father.
I have known him who is from the beginning.
I am strong,
and the word of God lives in me,
and I have overcome the evil one.
