Good thought, Amy. I know it's important to remain faithful and trust God during the waiting times, but it's so hard. I have often wondered if the waiting-behavior IS more important than the getting-behavior, and if that's the whole point sometimes in God making me wait. I think the lessons really do come in the waiting.

I was just reading this morning in "Our Daily Bread" about God's answers and His timing:
"If the circumstances of your life seem to be going from bad to worse, sending you into depression and despair, remember that God always hears and answers our cries - but it's in His time, not ours."
Wow, He always answers! What a wonderful promise! It's that whole "in His time" part that is so difficult for me.

This reminds me to hold on. If I'm feeling unanswered or unheard...I need to be patient. Trust in the waiting. My friend Melissa told me that it's just as important how you act in the waiting time as it is when you get what you're waiting for. It might even be more important. I pray that I can be peaceful in my waiting and be thankful when I am answered. God does not deny he just delays.

This reminds me of the song that we sing at Grace that was going through my head much of yesterday -- Everlasting God.

Strength will rise as we wait upon the Lord,
we will wait upon the Lord
we will wait upon the Lord
