There is so much more to being a pastor than just delivering the message on Sunday mornings! We all have jobs, commitments, families etc., to tend to and many times the things we do appear to go unnoticed or without recognition. You parents out there…How many times have you thought to yourself that your children, spouse, etc., have no "clue" all the things you do, much less, appreciate it? I think back to when my children were in school and I was a "stay-at-home Mom". I’m sure they sometimes thought that I didn't do anything while they were in school but watch TV and snack all day! They had no idea what needed to be done before they got home…laundry, housecleaning, meals to prepare, and bills to pay, etc. I’m sure that preparing the message for Sunday mornings took a LOT of time which you now have to devote to other tasks/responsibilities. I know that I very much appreciate your leadership and vision, and want to THANK YOU, Dave, for all you do for Grace Community and God's Kingdom.
P.S. I saw the 60 Minutes segment about “Plumpy Nut” on Sunday too! What a simple discovery that could save thousands!!!

Sterling
I don't even know what a blog is....all I know is they are good for you.

I like this DWB group...they seem to get it done.
Let me know what you find out on that Plumpy Nut deal.

I heard an encouraging one on PRI the other day about a simple stretch suit that prevents maternal bleed out- the leading cause of death for women in Nigeria just behind armed robbery. My older brother (now dying) has worked on this project for the past few years- a group called Pathfinders. The suit costs $5 and can be used several times. Saves a woman almost 100% of the time. Its just an issue of getting it out there and a bit of training for local health people.

Does "free cell" apply only to people who know what a "blog" is? Clueless here.......

The reason for my reply is so that I can post a new subject. Couldn't figure out how to start a new thread.

Did anyone catch 60 Minutes last night? I'm always on the lookout for good news to counter the avalanche of bad news we hear day in, day out. Last night I found some good news. The organization Doctors Without Borders has been distributing a food source called Plumpy Nut to fight malnutrition worldwide. It's a simple to make, simple to distribute, simple to eat peanut-based substance with multi-vitamins. It sounds like something Dave would eat while hiking! From the report, it has been very successful. So if you're like me, and often the world's problems seem too overwhelming, here's a solution that seems like a win-win. I'm personally going to look into how I can help provide this product to people in need.
